How to read NFL Las Vegas Odds
The point-spread was developed to provide a balance for both teams involved in a contest to entice bettors to potentially back the weaker team and receive points. The two squads in a game are listed with a title, either a favorite or an underdog. The favorite is usually the perceived better team in the game, as backing them means giving up several points.
The favorite is always listed with a minus (-) sign before the point-spread while the underdog is labeled with a plus (+) label.

Ex. Favorite -10, Underdog +10
On the VegasInsider.com odds page, there is another number associated with the favorite and its listed as -10. This number is simply defined as vig or what many in the sports betting industry call vigorish. Another common term is called juice and its technically the price the bettor has to pay on a straight wager.
Ex. Bet $110 to win $100 (10% juice)
Ex. Bet $100 to win $90.91 (10% juice)
It's not uncommon to see other values posted other than -10. Examples seen on the NFL Vegas Odds pages could include -08, -12, -15 and -20. The -10 price is the most common value in the industry while many books offer reduced 'juice odds' and that would fall into the -08 category.
The lower-juice sportsbooks are normally found outside of the state Nevada. If you are in a state where sports betting is legal, please check out our online sportsbook directory to find the best and most secure places to make NFL bets.
Another number thats posted on the NFL Las Vegas is the total or over/under for the specific matchup. If the favorite is designated as the home team, then the total will be listed above and vice versa if the visitors are favorites.
All of the above numbers are listed next to the teams, and before each matchup is a Rotation number. The NFL Las Vegas Odds are listed in order of rotation and those numbers are generated and produced by the sportsbooks. Above each matchup and rotation is the Time of the game, which is subject to change. All game times are Eastern Standard Time.
NFL Open Line
One of the best features on the NFL Vegas Odds is the Open Line. This numbers consists of the first betting line received from one of our Las Vegas or Global Sportsbooks. The opening line varies depending on the sportsbook but it provides a clear-cut rating that the oddsmakers use. If youre betting on the NFL or any other sport, its a great idea to view the open line first.
VI Consensus NFL Line
The VegasInsider.com Consensus NFL Line is just as important as the Open Line and also a key resource on odds platform. The Consensus column could be called a Median Line since it shows the most consistent number provided by the sportsbooks on VegasInsider.com. The consensus line will be the same as the open line but once the wagers start coming in, this number is often different than the openers.
How do I bet on the Super Bowl?
We know that you can bet on the Super Bowl and all of NFL Futures or bet on the NFL Draft at any time of the year, but whats the process? The future wager or the Odds to Win bet on the Super Bowl is correctly selecting a team to win an event that takes place at a later time. A bettor will have his wagered money tied up until there is an outcome and bettors will receive fixed odds when they place the wager. In the case of the Super Bowl, youre not a winner or loser until you see zeros on the clock in the final game.
Most sportsbooks offer different ways to read to Super Bowl Odds. In the fractional NFL Futures Odds format below, you simply take the odds and multiply by the amount wagered.
Ex. Green Bay (8/1) to win the Super Bowl
The Packers are listed as an 8/1 betting choice to win the Super Bowl. If you wager $100 on Green Bay to win the NFC and they capture the championship, then you would win $800 (8 ÷ 1 x 100). Your online betting account would then credit your account $900, which includes your win and stake ($100).
The American Format would see Green Bay listed at +800 and for the Decimal Format, the Packers would be 9.00.

There are several ways to celebrate the Super Bowl in Las Vegas.
Some of the liveliest local bars will be showing the game, casino nightclubs will be turned into watch parties for the day, and of course, the local sportsbooks will be showing the game on most, if not all, of their screens.
If you’re wondering where to bet on the Super Bowl 2021 in Las Vegas, I’ve got you covered with some recommended sportsbooks. Remember, though, you can always bet on the Super Bowl online.
I’ve also got some top picks for your Las Vegas game day experience if you want to watch the game away from home.
Top Vegas Sportsbooks for Super Bowl Betting
All Las Vegas sportsbooks offer Super Bowl betting. If you’re betting before game day, it doesn’t matter really matter which one you choose.
If you’re going to bet on the Super Bowl on Sunday, however, you might want to think carefully about your choice of location.
Be aware that you have to arrive 8-10 hours early to grab a front-row seat and about 3 hours early to snag a seat at all, and that is during normal operation.
This year, with social distancing an issue, seating may be reduced, making it harder to relax while you watch the game.
Casino | Sportsbook seating capacity |
---|---|
Circa | 1000 |
Westgate | 400 |
South Point | 320 |
Mandalay Bay | 300 |
Red Rock Casino | 200 |
Green Valley Ranch | 170 |
Keep in mind that there are also sportsbooks in Las Vegas that have only about a dozen seats (The D) and no seats at all (Tuscany Suites).
Therefore, heading to a smaller sportsbook to try to stay away from potential crowds and grab yourself a chair may not be the best move.
Here are some good options for Super Bowl Betting in Las Vegas
Green Valley Ranch
Green Valley Ranch is in Henderson, a suburb of Las Vegas, and is a stand-alone property, rather than sitting among a host of other casinos. The hotel and casino itself get high marks from reviewers, and the sportsbook is well-lit, orderly, and spacious.
If you are driving in from Southern California, this is one of the first sportsbook properties you will pass as you approach Sin City.
Circa
I have to mention Circa here because it is currently the biggest sportsbook in the world. Located on the Fremont Street Experience, this casino sportsbook boasts a three-story-high wall of screens for sports fans and tiered seating.
There is also another area for viewing sports, called Stadium Swim (see under “Watch Parties,” below).
Note:Some sports enthusiasts—myself included—still use online betting sites, even when I am watching an event at a sportsbook. I can avoid lines, find better odds, and peruse the prop bets available at my leisure. Win-win!
South Point
This casino is located several miles south of the Strip, which is a big point in its favor for many casino-goers and sports fans.
Especially those who want to stay away from the pricey parking and crowds of the world’s most popular gambling area.
Westgate
Once the largest of the sportsbooks, the SuperBook at the Westgate may have lost its “biggest” status, but it still retains its reputation as one of the loudest and liveliest sportsbooks, especially during NFL events.
It’s located a few minutes east of the Strip.
Mandalay Bay
At the south end of the main Strip casino area, this sportsbook is similar to those in other large casinos.
You’ll find 17 large screens, individual televisions for bettors who want to focus on horseracing, and cocktails close at hand.
Red Rock
This elegant casino sits at the edge of town, in the Summerlin community. The Red Rock doesn’t attract the types of crowds that you’ll see on the Strip, but it is locally loved and considered a bit of an insider’s secret.
The sportsbook is known in Vegas for being one of the most relaxed places to watch sporting events.
Best Vegas Super Bowl Watch Parties
Watch parties are often considered more fun than attending the Super Bowl itself, with the parties’ easy access to food, liquor, comfortable seating (well, more comfortable than a seat at the stadium, at any rate), and pre-and post-game mingling.
Here are a few of the 21-and-over watch parties setting up for the Bucs/Chiefs showdown.

Golden Circle Sports Bar
This bar in the Treasure Island Casino on the Strip is hosting a watch party for the Big Game. You must make a reservation and pre-pay for your seating ($99 and up), which will also get you plentiful free drinks.
The game starts at 3:30 Las Vegas time, and the doors of this party open at noon.
Cost of Vegas Watch Parties
- Golden Circle $99
- House of Blues $150 and up
- Clique Lounge $2000
Clique Lounge
Don’t be put off by the posh setting. This location is going to be lit up with energy and noise on Super Bowl Sunday. Located in the Cosmopolitan, The Clique will open up at 1:00 p.m. on the day of the Big Game.
Important:Reservations are essential, and tables for four run around $2000 a piece.
House of Blues
This food and music venue is hosting two watch parties. The one in the restaurant is sold out, but there are still tickets available for the gathering in the Foundation Room.
There will be a special Super Bowl menu, and living room nooks with private screens are available. The location of the Foundation Room event is on the top of Mandalay Bay.
Best Vegas Bars to Watch the Super Bowl
It’s safe to say that nearly every bar in town will be showing the game.
Here are a few choices that have already created a bit of buzz ahead of Super Bowl Sunday.
Intrigue Sports Lounge
Located at the Wynn, this club is hosting a Big Game viewing party that begins at 2 p.m., requires reservations, and has a maximum of four fans per table. Why did I not list this under “Watch Parties?”
Because, unlike other watch parties, this one does not charge you to watch the game, and thus there will be no comped food or drink (or raffles and other party extras).
Marquee at Cosmopolitan
How To Make A Super Bowl Bet In Vegas
This bar will be showing the game, and you can attend and watch—for free. However, reservations are required, and bottle service is available.
Usually a nightclub, this spot will morph into a loud and lively sports bar on Sunday the seventh.
The Tilted Kilt
This saucy bar next to the LINQ will be offering food and drink packages along with Big Game viewing.
The Kilt can sell out quickly when it comes to seating during events, and it is unlikely that standing room will be allowed in the current health and safety climate.
Watch from Home, Bet Online
Your best bet may be to relax and watch the game at home and bet at one of the top-ranked online sportsbooks.
This option has much to offer.
- No worries about drinking and driving.
- The money you save on watch party tickets and expensive alcohol can be placed on wagers, instead.
- Your health will be more secure than if you are out mingling.
- Your couch will be more comfortable than nearly any other outside seating option.
A Note on Super Bowl Prop Bets
The Super Bowl is (usually) an excellent display of football strategy and athleticism. Naturally, many bettors will want to put wagers on the victorious team, and maybe also on the spread and the MVP.
But the prop bets are where the most entertaining betting is at, in my opinion.
Bet on the coin toss, on the first song that halftime act The Weeknd will sing, on which Sesame Street character will be the first to show up on a DoorDash commercial during the game…Super Bowl prop bets are many and varied.
Wrapping Things Up
Now you have the information and must make your decision quickly since space is at a premium.
Decide first how much you are going to bet, which wagers interest you, and only then consider the costs of various bars and parties.
